Who you could be in London Fire Brigade There are four functions in our brigade: Firefighters – on the frontline, rescuing; Control, answering 999 calls; Fire Safety, reducing risk; and Head Office, ensuring the organisation runs smoothly. We depend on each other to serve and protect London. FIREFIGHTERS Our firefighters are out on the frontline saving lives, homes, businesses and streets. Yes, they put out fires. But they also rescue people from flooding, road collisions, major incidents and much more. And they educate Londoners on how to be safe.
